SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Cincinnati Reds, May 11
The SF Giants are hoping to get back into the win column after dropping the first game of the series to the Cincinnati Reds. They will lean on rookie pitcher Mason Black for Saturday's game.
SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Cincinnati Reds, May 11
The Reds lost eight straight games before taking the first game of the series by a score of 4-2. The Giants had several defensive miscues in the outfield that played a part in the loss. That said, they will need to score more than two runs to win a game.
Black will be making his second career start and his first at home in San Francisco. The right-handed hurler coasted through four innings but allowed four runs in the fifth inning before departing after registering just one out.
Black was having a strong season in Triple-A, posting a 1.01 ERA in six starts with the Sacramento River Cats. The Reds have not faced him before and that can typically be a tough matchup for opposing lineups.
Who it hot?
Heliot Ramos was recalled earlier this week and has already made an impact. He recorded two loud hits in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Reds.
Who are the SF Giants facing?
The Giants will face another lefty pitcher in Nick Lodolo. He is off to a strong start with a 2.79 ERA in five starts. The Giants have not faced him previously, so it will be a tough matchup for a lineup that often struggles with unfamiliarity as well as familiarity.
