SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Chicago White Sox, August 20
The SF Giants sure did not make things look easy in Monday night's 5-3 win over the Chicago White Sox, but they still came out victorious. That makes it two wins in a row and now Robbie Ray takes the mound to try and turn this into a winning streak.
SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Chicago White Sox, August 20
The White Sox are the worst team in baseball, so there is added pressure for the Giants to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. At the very least, they need to win the series, but of course, a sweep is an even better outcome. That said, sweeping teams is hard.
The Giants will need Ray to turn in a better start than his last outing. The lefty pitcher yielded five earned runs in 0.2 frames in a 13-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves last week. Overall, he has posted a 6.00 ERA with 30 strikeouts against 12 walks in 21 innings. He is still too prone to the long ball with a 2.6 HR/9 rate.
Who it hot?
Michael Conforto recorded a solo shot in his lone at-bat on Sunday and he followed that up with a two-hit effort, including a double, on Monday night. The lefty bat can be a streak hitter, but when he gets it going, he can really help the lineup.
Who are the SF Giants facing?
The Giants are facing off against Davis Martin. Martin has registered a 3.00 ERA in four outings for Chicago this season. He has walked 10 batters in 18 innings, so the Giants will need to be patient at the plate.
