The SF Giants clinched a series victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates over the weekend thanks to an excellent out from Keaton Winn. They now hit the road, starting with the Boston Red Sox. Logan Webb is tabbed to be Tuesday's starter.

The starting rotation has hit its stride. That unit has posted a 3.67 ERA in 2024, which is the ninth-best rotation ERA in baseball. Unfortunately, they will face off against a Red Sox team that leads baseball with a 2.07 rotation ERA.

The Giants will rely on Webb to get the road trip started on a positive note. The staff ace is coming off of an excellent outing in which he tallied eight scoreless innings against the New York Mets last week. On the year, he has a 2.33 ERA, 2.79 FIP, 1.11 WHIP, 6.1 K/9, and a 3.71 SO/W ratio through six starts. This includes a 59.7 percent ground ball rate.

Who it hot?

Defense never takes a day off and that has been the case for the Giants' middle infield in 2024. Nick Ahmed and Thairo Estrada are tied for third in baseball with +5 Outs Above Average apiece. The ground ball-heavy staff must appreciate having both Ahmed and Estrada out on defense every game.

Who are the SF Giants facing?

The Giants are slated to face off against righty pitcher Cooper Criswell. Like many Red Sox pithers, he is off to a strong start. He has a 2.38 ERA in three outings in 2024.
