The SF Giants dropped the final game of the series against the Detroit Tigers, but they still came out with a series victory. It was their third straight series win. They will now rely on Blake Snell to get them off on the right foot against the Atlanta Braves.

SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Atlanta Braves, August 12

The Braves have a 3-7 record over their last 10 games. Despite the recent stretch of poor play, this should be a good litmus test for where the Giants are at. San Francisco is off to a good start in July after winning against the Cincinnati Reds, Washington Nationals, and Tigers. However, that does not inform of where the team is at, but the Braves are a much better matchup.

Snell has been one of the best pitchers in baseball over the past five weeks. However, he is coming off of a less impressive performance where he allowed three earned runs in six frames against the Nationals in a 7-4 win. Overall, the lefty pitcher has a 4.31 ERA in 12 starts.

Who it hot?

Tyler Fitzgerald has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball since the start of July. He is in the midst of a modest, four-game hitting streak. He has collected six hits, including two doubles, in 17 at-bats with five stolen bases during that stretch.

Who are the SF Giants facing?

The Giants will be facing off against veteran hurler Chris Sale. Sale is having a resurgent 2024 campaign in the mound with a 2.75 ERA 21 outings for Atlanta. He is looking more like the pitcher who made seven straight All-Star appearances starting in 2012.
