This could be Webb's last start of the season. He would be scheduled to make Sunday's start against the St Louis Cardinals, but today will be his 33rd start as he approaches the 200-inning mark. There is no reason to push him any further.
Webb has become a bit of a unicorn in terms of workload. Over the last three seasons, he has averaged at least 32 starts and 200 innings. That type of durability is hard to come by. On the year, he has posted a 3.58 ERA in 32 outings. The veteran hurler is only 1.1 innings away from reaching 200 on the year.
Who is hot?
Michael Conforto is looking to finish the year on a positive note. He blasted his 19th home run in Monday's victory against the Diamondbacks and is inching closer to the 20-homer mark. Plus, the left-handed bat has tallied a hit in five of his last six games. He has hit three home runs during tha stretch.
Who are the SF Giants facing?
The Giants are facing off against young righty Brandon Pfaadt. Pfaadt has a 4.66 ERA in 30 starts this year. He has registered a 1.50 ERA in two career starts against San Francisco.
