When the San Francisco Giants signed Blake Snell in the offseason, the expectations were very high for the Cy Young-winning left hander.

Unfortunately, Snell signed pretty late and had practically no Spring Training. It seems like that played a role in his struggles early, but after sitting out for about four weeks to begin the summer, he's back to his old form.

Since returning on July 9, Snell has thrown 33 innings and allowed just two earned runs while striking out 41.

Then, on Friday, Snell spun an absolute gem. Snell no-hit the Cincinnati Reds, striking out 11 and picking up his first win of the season. Not only was it Snell's first career no-no, but it was the first time in his career that's he's pitched more than eight innings in a game.

“I was pumped up,” Snell told MLB.com. “It was a great time. I’m still kind of shocked. I need to go home, let it sink in.”
