The deadline (in most cases) for teams to sign their drafts came and went on Thursday. For the SF Giants, there were no surprises as they were able to lock up many of their top picks in advance of the deadline.

The Giants had 18 picks in this year's draft. They forfeited their second-and-third-round picks after signing Matt Chapman and Blake Snell, respectively, last offseason. Both players had rejected a qualifying offer, so there was draft pick compensation tied to their names.

That said, the Giants did sign 17 of those 18 picks. The lone exception was 19th-round pick Ryan Ure. Ure decided to return to Oklahoma State University with the hopes of getting a full season under his belt after missing much of the 2024 year due to Tommy John surgery.

San Francisco had a bonus pool of $7,566,200. They can exceed that amount by five percent without losing future draft capital. No team has exceeded that threshold yet in the bonus-pool era. The Giants have often flirted with that threshold and this year was no different. Overall, they spent $7,944,510 on their draft class, leaving just over $2,000 remaining.

Players drafted within the first 10 rounds have assigned slot values with every pick. After the 10th round, teams can spend up to $150,000 on a player without that amount counting against the bonus pool. Anything above that amount gets factored in.
