Report: SF Giants trade power-hitting first baseman to Mets
The SF Giants are trading 36-year-old Darin Ruf to the New York Mets in exchange for 29-year-old third baseman J.D. Davis. Pitchers Nick Zwack, Thomas Szapucki, and Carson Seymour are also included in the deal, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

Davis, 29, who made his Major League debut in 2017, has two arbitration years remaining and has 44 career home runs with the Houston Astros and Mets. This season, Davis is batting .238 with 4 home runs.
Szapucki, 26, is 2-6 with a 3.38 ERA in 64 innings pitched (87 strikeouts) with the Syracuse Mets (Triple-A).
Zwack, 24, is 5-1 with a 1.84 ERA in 63 innings (14 games; 13 starts) for the Brooklyn Cyclones of the South Atlantic League (A-level).
Seymour, 23, is 5-5 with a 2.76 ERA in 81 innings (18 games, 13 starts) between the St. Lucie Mets (A-level) and Cyclones.
