The Giants return from an off-day after sputtering to two straight losses to the Pirates, but get a favorable matchup to grab a win.
San Francisco and its ace Logan Webb will face a strong Orioles team that brings an elite offense but a poor pitcher in Dean Kremer, who is in line for some serious regression moving forward. How should we target the Giants offense against Kremer in the series opener?
Here are the odds:
Orioles vs. Giants odds, run line and total
Orioles vs. Giants prediction and pick
Kremer continues to escape starts relatively unscathed, but his underlying numbers hint that he is in for a step back. He has a 4.58 ERA, nothing to call home about, but his xERA is nearly two runs higher at 6.46. He has stranded 76% of batters despite allowing a .333 batting average on balls in play. Kremer has strung together timely outs to clean up his mistakes.
However, the Giants enter with one of the best offenses in baseball of late. The team is hitting .264 over the last 15 days, eighth in baseball, and is fourth in runs scored in that time with 67. I believe this is the spot to fade Kremer to great success.
I'm going to target the Giants team total over as my favorite bet in this game. The Giants have scored at least four runs in 12 of the team's last 16 games and I love this spot for them to keep it rolling once again. At + money, I'll back them posting an above average offensive performance.
