Giants vs. Diamondbacks prediction and odds for Friday, May 12
The San Francisco Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks are in the middle of a four-game set.
Game 1 was on Thursday night, and the Giants got the better of the Diamondbacks, winning by a final score of 6-2. The Diamondbacks will need to bounce back tonight if they want any hope of keeping pace with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the division.
The Diamondbacks are sitting three games back from the Dodgers for the NL West lead.
Let's dive the betting odds for tonight's game.
Giants vs. Diamondbacks odds, run line, and total
Giants vs. Diamondbacks prediction and pick
The total for tonight's game is set at a high mark of 10, but for good reason. I'm not going to let that scare me away from taking the OVER, so that's exactly what I'm going to wager on.
Neither of tonight's starting pitchers are any good. John Brebbia gets the start for the Giants with a 5.93 ERA and he'll face off against Ryne Nelson (6.00 ERA) of the Diamondbacks. It's not just their numbers that make me think it'll be an offensive shootout, it's the fact that they're both righties.
Both the Giants and Diamondbacks are much better offensively when facing right-handed pitchers. They enter tonight ranking fourth and fifth in OPS against righties at .788 and .781. Meanwhike, their respective OPS drops to .730 and .656 when facing lefties.
Even if the starter survive in tact, their bullpens are amongst the worst in the Majors. They rank 28th and 25th in bullpen ERA.
Let's sit back and root for runs in this NL West showdown.
