Four Former SF Giants relievers still available in free agency

4. Tony Watson

The SF Giants traded to bring back Tony Watson in 2021 in an attempt to shore up the bullpen for a postseason run. The move proved to be a wise one as Watson posted a 2.96 ERA in 24 innings with the Giants.

It remains to be seen whether the Giants plan to bring Watson back in 2022. He would make sense as a veteran lefty who could provide a measure of stability to a bullpen that still has a lot of young relievers.

He signed with the Angels on a one year, $1 million contract last offseason. If the Giants can sign him for a similar deal then they should pull the trigger because he can still provide a lot of value to the bullpen.

In sum, these four former SF Giants relievers may make sense if the front office wants to shore up the bullpen going into 2022. While the teams already has a solid nucleus of talent, it may not hurt to add another veteran arm or two into the mix.
