The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants will face-off for the first time this season on Monday night, in what serve as the first game of a three game set.

The Giants are sitting at 4-5 but there have been plenty of bright spots to lean on, specifically their offense which has been one of the best in the Majors through the first week and a half.

Let's take a look at the odds for this NL West matchup and then I'll break down my best bet for the game.

Dodgers vs. Giants odds, run line, and total

Dodgers vs. Giants prediction and pick

Logan Web b will take the mound tonight and he has stumbled a bit to start his 2023 campaign. He sports a 6.55 ERA in 11.0 innings pitched, so instead of trusting him and backing the Giants as underdogs, I'm going to look at the total instead.

Let's trust the one thing that the Giants have done well, which is score runs. Heading into tonight, these two teams are 2nd and 5th in OPS while also ranking 4th and 8th in runs per game, averaging a combined total of 11.22 runs per game.

With tonight's total set at 7.5, that backs the OVER fantastic bet.

It's also worth noting that the OVER isn't dead even if both pitchers have strong performances. Neither team has had a strong bullpen through the first week and a half of the season. The Dodgers sport a bullpen ERA of 4.68 and the Giants come in with a bullpen ERA of 5.40.

Let's sit back and root for the OVER in this one.
