5 trade options for the SF Giants to add a star if they miss out on Shohei Ohtani

3) Randy Arozarena

Speaking of Randy Arozarena... The Tampa Bay superstar has been a surprise addition to the 2023-2024 offseason discussion.

The slugger has established himself as one of the best and most exciting players in baseball during his five-year MLB career. At first glance, his counting stats are less impressive than that of Robert. To his credit, Arozarena posted a solid .254 average with 23 homers and 22 steals.

While he too has 30-homer/30-steal upside, Arozarena likely has a lower statistical ceiling than Robert. However, his stellar reputation in clutch moments gives him the edge on our list.

A legitimate argument could be made that Arozarena is the league's most valuable hitter in moments when the game is on the line. His flair for the dramatics would be a wonderful addition to Oracle Park.

There is even a world where SF could address two of their most pressing needs in a blockbuster including both Arozarena and Rays ace Tyler Glasnow. While this would require the franchise to part with multiple valuable trade pieces, it would instantly thrust the Giants into the top tier of postseason contender. What better way to compensate for losing Ohtani than by adding a top-tier hitter and pitcher in his place?
