3 SF Giants most likely to be traded before the trade deadline

1. Michael Conforto

The Giants signed Michael Conforto before 2023 and he has been about average for the club. Last season his WAR was 0.7 and this far in 2024 it has been -0.2. That is about the definition of an average player.

He has provided occasional pop with his bat, hitting 15 home runs last season and 8 so far this season. But his batting average with the Giants has been in the .230's which certainly leaves a lot to be desired.

Conforto is certainly not a huge trade chip, but a team could definitely be interested in him if they are in desperate need of outfield help, are looking for an above-average 4th outfielder, or even need a left-handed DH option.

With Conforto being in the final year of his contract, it would make a lot of sense for the Giants to trade him so they can at least get something for him. Plus, it would open the door for Luis Matos to get more playing time as he has been tearing it up in Triple-A recently.

There is a good chance that Conforto gets traded before the deadline. Another Giant who may be traded is also in the final year of his contract with the team.
