After a four-year stint in the majors, former SF Giants left-handed-hitting infielder Jason Vosler has decided to move overseas. Vosler has agreed to join the Chunichi Dragons of the NPB for the 2025 season according to a report from the Sponichi Annex.

Vosler spent the 2024 season with the Seattle Mariners organization because the Giants-Mariners connection never ends. He did appear briefly with the Mariners, recording five hits in 28 at-bats before clearing waivers and finishing the season in Triple-A. Vosler became a free agent at the end of the year.
Before playing for Seattle, Vosler had a few nice moments in a Giants uniform. He was signed to a major league contract prior to the 2021 season despite never appearing in the majors up until that point. That said, he did have a strong track record at the plate in the minors. This included registering an .890 OPS with 20 home runs and 63 RBI in 425 plate appearances with San Diego's Triple-A club in 2019.
Vosler was used primarily as a platoon, corner outfielder while showing up some modest power during his two-year run with the Giants. He posted a .727 OPS with seven home runs and 21 RBI in 193 plate appearances with San Francisco.
The Giants designated the lefty bat for assignment after the 2022 season where he cleared and became a free agent. Oddly enough, Vosler did agree to join Seattle in January of 2023 but he was released so that he could pursue an opportunity with the Cincinnati Reds. He struggled during his brief time with the Reds and ended up rejoining the Mariners last year.
In parts of four seasons, Vosler has slashed .207/.274/.395 (82 wRC+) with a 7.6 percent walk rate, 29.2 percent strikeout rate, and .188 ISO. His best season came with the Giants in 2022 where he hit to an .812 OPS in 111 plate appearances.
The 31-year-old infielder is set to join the Chunichi Dragons. The Dragons finished in last place in the NPB with a 60-75 record. That team did feature a pair of former Giants players in Alex Dickerson and Orlando Calixte.
