As the SF Giants continue to struggle on offense, president of baseball operations Buster Posey is preaching patience. While that may be the only strategy for now, many fans are struggling to remain patient with such a poor offense.

Posey appeared on KNBR a few days ago to try and assuage some of the concerns fans are having with the Giants. His response to the struggles of several key offensive players can be viewed here.

The biggest offensive conundrum has been the lack of production from shortstop Willy Adames. The 29-year-old was Posey's big offseason splash and his play thus far has not warranted the franchise-record contract that he received in the offseason.

Yet, the Giants have no other choice than to ride it out with him and Posey gets that. He compared the struggles Adames is going through to the ones Juan Soto is experiencing with the New York Mets after he received a jaw-dropping deal from them.

It is true that players often do struggle in their first season with a new team after signing a big contract as they adjust to new surroundings and try to prove they are worth it. Yet, Adames still needs to turn things around soon.

Posey was blunt about the lack of production the Giants have gotten at first base this season due in large part to the struggles of LaMonte Wade Jr. We know the Giants have been reluctant to rock the boat and make a bunch of moves on the big league roster under Posey, but the team is clearly coming to a crossroads with Wade soon.

Another player who has struggled to get going is catcher Patrick Bailey. While his superb defense makes the offensive struggles easier to stomach, his .183 batting average is still tough to look at. Nonetheless, Posey affirmed that Bailey is the team's catcher no matter what which is certainly a nice boost in the arm for a player trying to figure things out.

One hopes the team can dig itself out of this offensive crater it finds itself in. Posey knows better than anyone that a team does not need to be an offensive juggernaut to succeed, but they have to at least score some runs and help out their pitching staff a little bit.

Patience may be the most prudent approach for now, but if things do not start to turn around soon then fans will continue to clamor for Posey to act and make big changes to the lineup.
