It is always a party, or maybe a circus would be more apt, when the SF Giants take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at Oracle Park. Bay Area native Joey Chestnut was part of that circus on Friday night as he ate an insane number of chicken nuggets.
Chestnut, known for his dominance in the July 4th hot dog eating competition over the course of many years, was born in Vallejo and was at the game chomping down some nuggets while the game was going on.

Bay Area native Joey Chestnut eats tons of chicken nuggets during SF Giants game
When it was all said and done, Chestnut reached 275 nuggets on the night. This was even more than what he was hoping for which shows that Chestnut is always going to push the limits of what the human body can accomplish when it comes to eating.
The San Jose State alum was not the only special guest at the game on Friday. Legendary shortstop Brandon Crawford was also at the game and took in the action along with his wife Jalynne.

What was going on in the stands was exciting enough, but the product on the field was not bad either. Justin Verlander took the ball for the Giants and delivered an amazing performance in what was his most important start as a Giant to date.
He delivered seven solid innings and only allowed one run. The Giants did not do a ton on offense as they only managed one hit and one run off Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto, but they hung around enough to force extra innings and in the bottom of the 10th Patrick Bailey delivered yet another memorable walk off with his grand slam to send Giants fans home happy on a 5-1 victory.
Maybe Chestnut's incredible chicken nugget feat helped inspire the Giants to pull off the unbelievable victory. No matter what, they needed the win as they try to make the playoffs and they are going to need to win at least one of the next two games to win the series and keep the momentum rolling as they try to play some baseball in October.
