The biggest question for the SF Giants at the Winter Meetings seems to be whether they will end up trading away top prospect Bryce Eldridge. Let's take a look at three trades involving Eldridge that Giants fans would probably be on board with.

Reports suggest that Eldridge is on the table in trade talks for the Giants, and there is no doubt that he is a valuable trade chip for the team given the fact he is 21 years old and has shown such great potential in the minor leagues.

President of baseball operations Buster Posey has made big moves in the past so maybe he is gearing up for another. If he wants to upgrade the starting rotation in a major way this offseason, trading Eldridge may be his only option with the powers that be reluctant to spend big on a pitcher in free agency.

Two teams who have reportedly shown interest in Eldridge in trade talks are the Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox. Maybe the Giants could work out a trade with one of these franchises to address some needs of their own.

How about a trade with Seattle that would send Eldridge to the Mariners in exchange for starting pitcher Bryan Woo? The Bay Area native is coming off an All-Star campaign in 2025 with a 15-7 record and 2.94 ERA in 30 starts so he would be a great addition to the rotation especially since he is just 25 years old.

The Giants may have to give up more than just Eldridge in a trade like that but maybe if they included another prospect in the trade they could get it done.

Turning to Boston, a team the Giants made a blockbuster trade with earlier this year, maybe a trade that sent Eldridge and outfielder Heliot Ramos to the Red Sox with a return of outfielder Roman Anthony and left-handed pitcher Connelly Early would make sense.

The Giants have a need in right field and Anthony could be plugged in out there a season after slashing .292/.396/.463 with 8 home runs and 32 runs batted in. Ramos would give Boston a replacement in right field.

The Red Sox nabbed a promising young left-handed pitcher from the Giants in the Rafael Devers trade with Kyle Harrison, so it is only fair that the Giants steal one back in Early who had a 2.33 ERA in four starts as a rookie in 2025. He could potentially be a major part of the rotation for the Giants.

Finally, Joe Ryan has been connected to the Giants a lot given he is a San Francisco native. Even though the Minnesota Twins have said they do not want to trade their stars, maybe trading Eldridge to the Twins in exchange for Ryan could change their mind.

Ryan was an All-Star in 2025 and grew up a Giants fan so he would be easy to root for. Pitching is a big need for San Francisco so they may be willing to do a deal like that.

It would take a lot for the Giants to trade Eldridge, but maybe one of these deals would get Giants fans on board with the pitching staff being such a point of emphasis.
