SF Giants get you hyped for the season
A recent video sent out by the San Francisco Giants will get you pumped up for the possible resumption of play this season.
As we all wait for news if the Giants are going to play competitive games this year, the team has released a video that is bound to get you pumped up for the possible resumption of play.
It’s only two minutes long, but if you don’t have time to watch it, it begins with some shots of an empty San Francisco, a reminder of how different things are due to the pandemic.
Then, a few seconds in we hear the reassuring voice of Giants color commentary announcer Mike Krukow as he talks about what he misses about baseball and being together to watch Giants games, listing things from garlic fries to Panda hats and what he dubs the most beautiful body of water in the world, which as we all know is McCovey Cove.
The video intersperses images of fans going wild in the stand and transitions to images of frontline workers as Kruk reminds us that we should stay home if we can as a thank you for their service and he laments the fact that we can’t be together to enjoy baseball games.
But at about 1:30 in the video, you are bound to have some chills running down your spine. After lamenting the lack of kayaks in McCovey Cove and the lack of baseball, he promises that it will return, and what follows are some awesome images of players celebrating after walk-offs and fans waving rally towels.
The video ends with a simple message: we will be back. We will all be back. With there being some reporting that MLB is considering an 82 games season that would begin in July, there is a chance that the Giants will be back in about two months which is encouraging to see assuming games can be played safely for everyone involved.
As we grasp for some semblance of normalcy in these times, I think we all can agree that the return of Giants baseball would go a long way towards giving Giants and baseball fans all over the world a little glimmer of hope that things will get better, and that the Giants will be back.
