Here is an update on San Francisco Giants prospects in the Arizona Fall League after with just one week left.
There is only one week left in the Arizona Fall League, and the Scottsdale Scorpions are all but eliminated from the championship game this Saturday.
Steven Duggar continues a good fall as he raised his average 10 points this past week to .279. He also continues to lead the team in runs scored with 17, as well as stolen bases with nine.
The outfielder is making a strong case to get a long look in spring training. He could be competing with Austin Slater for a spot in the Opening Day lineup.
Aramis Garcia had a good week as well raising his average to .273 now in 44 at-bats. He also has scored three runs and driven in 11.
With Nick Hundley and Tim Federowicz both gone — for now anyway — the Giants could also give Garcia a long look next spring as a possible back-up catcher.
Most importantly for Giants fans this fall, Tyler Beede had another very good outing. He gave up just 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk over 5 innings with 5 strikeouts.

That brings his AFL ERA down to 4.79 with 10 strikeouts in 11 innings pitched. In his last two outings he’s given up just 1 run on 6 hits and 1 walk over 9 innings with 9 strikeouts.
D.J. Snelten tossed another scoreless inning this past week, giving him 11 scoreless innings pitched this fall. He’s allowed just 5 hits and 5 walks with 10 strikeouts as the relief pitcher tries to earn a spot in the Giants bullpen next spring.
Another Giants relief pitcher, Tyler Cyr, pitched a scoreless inning of work last week. He now has an ERA of 6.43 in 7 innings pitched with 3 strikeouts.
He hasn’t allowed a run in five of his seven outings, but he’s given up a combined five runs in those other two outings.
