Tim Lincecum will make the start for the Giants today despite being hit in the knee last week by a line-drive and then getting food poisoning two days ago. But he’s ready to go.

The Giants have an interesting lineup today (hurry- change your fantasy baseball lineup before 12:30pm!). Buster Posey will have a day off and Hector Sanchez will catch for Timmy. Ehire Adrianza sees another day starting 2B and Gregor Blanco will start in left field and bat second today. With the way Pagan has been getting on base lately, Blanco batting second makes sense. He’s one of the best bunters on the team so advancing Pagan might be what Bochy is thinking. We’ll see.
Bronson Arroyo will make his first start as a Diamondback today. Many Giants’ fans wanted us to sign him in the off-season but the Giants brought back Ryan Vogelsong instead.
Arroyo had a rough spring, only pitching two games on Feb 27 and March 29, both against the Chicago Cubs. He had a 3.52 ERA but only pitched a total of 7.2 innings. The bulging disc in his back which sidelined him for most of Spring Training.
He does have some ownage against the Giants which was one of the reasons we wanted to sign him. In 2013 pitching for the Reds, he held the Giants to a .173 batting average. But back in 2012, the Giants hit .327 against him. Let’s hope Arroyo returns to 2012 form today.

I’m still in awe of Tim Hudson’s performance last night. The tweet below shows how incredible of a start it really was for Hudson and the Giants.
Giants say Hudson is first to strike out at least seven and give up no runs in SFG debut since Juan Marichal in 1960.
