Player of the Day: Kensuke Tanaka blasted his 1st North American HR for the Fresno Grizzlies Friday night. Tanaka is hitting .332 with 31 RBI, 22 steals, and now…1 HR. Congrats to the man that left behind millions in Japan to realize his dream of playing professional baseball in the U.S.
Fresno Grizzlies – AAA Pacific Coast League
Highlights/News: (L 9-8) Johnny Monell drove in 3 to up his RBI total to 62, Angel Pagan and Kensuke Tanaka drove in a pair each, but it wasn’t enough as Fresno fell in extras again to Las Vegas. Tanaka hit his first professional HR in North America. Heath Hembree blew his 5th save of the season after converting 9 in a row – a streak that lasted nearly 2 months.
