Player of the Day:  Giants #13 prospect LHP Eric Surkamp pitched 7 innings tonight for Fresno, giving up only 1ER for the fourth start in a row.  In 8 starts with Fresno since returning from an absense of over a year due to Tommy John surgery, Surkamp has recorded a 2.77 ERA in 64IP, with a 54/17 K/BB ratio.  We can forget that Surkamp got hammered in his one start with San Francisco in 2013 – for one night.  As he finds his way back, perhaps Surkamp can be a contributor to the big club in the future.

Highlights/News: (W 6-1) Fresno controlled the game early, scoring 4 in the 1st inning, and cruised to a 6-1 victory over Omaha. Eric Surkamp went 7 innings and gave up just 1ER, marking the 4th consecutive start for him with those numbers.  In 8 AAA starts since returning from Tommy John surgery, Surkamp has a 2.77 ERA in 48.2IP.
