Spring training is just a few weeks away now and a lot of free agents remain unsigned. Let's take a look at some noteworthy SF Giants who are still there for the picking.

Former SF Giants players who remain unsigned

Tom Murphy

You may have a hard time finding a tougher Giants tenure than catcher Tom Murphy's. He signed a two-year contract prior to the 2024 season and played 13 games in 2024 before injuries shut him down that season. Injuries popped up again in 2025 and he was shut down which led him to complain about the way the team handled him. It may take a while for him to be signed.

Dominic Smith

It's a little surprising that Dominic Smith remains unsigned. He was great for the Giants after they signed him last season and was one of the team's best hitters while also providing superb defense at first base. The Luis Arraez signing basically shut the door on a reunion, but it would not be a shock if he gets scooped up by a team soon.

Donovan Solano

"Donnie Barrels" has remained a solid hitter deep into his thirties but his numbers dipped last season which may be why he has remained unsigned for so long.

Wilmer Flores

Flores will always be beloved by Giants fans for his personality and solid tenure with the team, but he may just receive a minor league contract at this point in his career.

Thairo Estrada

Just a few years ago Thairo Estrada was one of the most complete players on the Giants, but he struggled last season with the Colorado Rockies and remains without a team.

Michael Conforto

Conforto joined the Los Angeles Dodgers last season after two years in San Francisco and did poorly against pretty much every team other than the Giants. Wherever he ends up, expect him to torch the Giants the next time he sees them.

Mark Canha

The Giants swung a trade for Canha at the deadline in 2024 to reunite him with manager Bob Melvin, but he is getting up there now and didn't have a great 2025 so we'll have to see if a team takes a chance on him.

Mike Tauchman

If Tauchman doesn't rob those two home runs during the magical 2021 season, maybe the Giants lose the NL West to the Dodgers. He had a pretty productive 2025 with the Chicago White Sox so a team in need of a solid defender in the outfield could come calling.

Andrew McCutchen

McCutchen will always be remembered for that walk-off grand slam he had against the Dodgers, but at 39 he may opt to retire if he cannot work something out with a team.

Zack Littell

Probably best known for a spat with manager Gabe Kapler when the skipper came to pull him out of the game, Littell has since turned himself into a solid starter. He would not be a bad fourth or fifth option for a team.

Tyler Anderson

A two-time All-Star, Anderson was only with the Giants for the shortened 2020 season but he is coming off a down year with the Los Angeles Angels.

Alex Cobb

It is a little surprising that Cobb has not retired yet, but the Giants have to be pretty pleased with the return they got for him when they traded him in 2024.

Anthony DeSclafani

He had a stellar 2021 campaign with the Giants, but has never been the same since. "Disco" is 36 now so at best he will get a minor league contract.

There are plenty of other former Giants who remain unsigned, but we will see if any of these guys get picked up soon with spring training games set to be contested in the coming weeks.
