San Francisco Giants Win first time in a week

It feels like a week has gone by since the San Francisco Giants put up a W. Oh wait! It has been. The team avoided being the first team since the Giants moved to SF to be swept on a 6  or more game home stand. Tim Lincecum was yanked in the fourth inning after giving up a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The bullpen was lights out as normal and kept the lead. Jean Machi got his sixth win of the season, it is his first win in over a month.

Andrew Susac got his first major league hit and RBI in this afternoons contest. As Pirates pitcher, Charlie Morton. Morton had a horrible start to the game after going into the stretch on a Brandon Crawford single.  This was followed by a Buster Posey single and a Pablo Sandoval walk to load the bases for Michael Morse. Morse got his first in field hit of the year on a swinging bunt and that kept the bases loaded for Joe Panik. Panik walked to score Posey and keep the bases loaded when Susac blooped a single over the head of Pirates shortstop to score Sandoval. Morse had to hold at second in case the ball was caught and wasn’t able to score.

Fast forward to the bottom of the third and Susac was at the plate with the bases loaded again and he singled to score Pablo Sandoval. In the bottom of the seventh with Joe Panik at third and Susac at the plate, a passed ball scored Panik. Clearly, this was Susac’s day to be the star.

Jean Machi had quite the double play happen as he walked the bases loaded. Pirates baserunner at second Travis Snider was halfway between 2nd and 3rd after a walk to Chris Stewart loaded the bases. Machi picked off Snider, while Gaby Sanchez took off for home and was gunned down by Machi to Sandoval who tagged Sanchez out at home.

Casilla got the save and the San Francisco Giants are on a Happy Flight to New York. It’s been reported that Dan Uggla and Tyler Colvin will not be taking the trip with the SF Giants. Colvin was confirmed going to Fresno and Uggla is in limbo between reporters.

Tyler Colvin and George Kontos, we will see you in Fresno on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle night on Saturday.
