In four innings pitched, Andrew Suarez has definitely boosted his chances of fighting his way onto the Opening Day roster.

He has allowed only one hit and one walk, and in his most recent outing he went two perfect innings with four strikeouts.

His stuff has looked sharp to start spring training, and he will to stay sharp if he wants to beat out other competitors for a rotation spot.

There is also the possibility that Suarez could be used out of the bullpen, but for now he is pushing for the No. 5 starter spot.

If Suarez can keep impressing new skipper Gabe Kapler, he might just earn a spot on the Opening Day roster.
