Giants infielder Mauricio Dubon

It’s not hard to get excited about the prospect of Mauricio Dubon in a super-utility role.

He proved last year that he is solid as a middle infielder, and as the old adage goes: if you can play shortstop, you can play anywhere.

It may be an adjustment for Dubon to start playing different positions, but versatility is important in today’s game, so modern ball players have to be comfortable playing all over the diamond.

As a hitter, Dubon isn’t exceptionally powerful, but he has the tools to hit for a high average and his speed should be an asset on the bases.

What is truly exciting about Dubon is not just his skills, but how many options the Giants have to maximize his talent in 2020.
