Signing Billy Hamilton

Speedster Billy Hamilton may not make the team out of spring training, but he at least gives the Giants a versatile and exciting option who could help them defensively and on the base paths.

If he proves he can get on base at a higher rate, then his speed makes him an unquestionable weapon. For a Giants team that will need to scrape out every run that they can, he has a chance to make an impact.

With the departure of Kevin Pillar, the team does not have an established base stealer on the team. Mauricio Dubon could prove to be a threat on the bases, but that remains to be seen.

If nothing else, Hamilton provides some center field depth at a time when center field is up for grabs and he will provide some competition for younger guys like Steven Duggar and Jaylin Davis.
