Madison Bumgarner landing spot: AL options
Despite winning 101 games last season, the year ended in disappointment for the Twins when they were swept by the Yankees in the ALDS. If they want a postseason arm to put them over the top, it is no wonder they have been linked to Bumgarner.
The main question is what they could offer that an NL team couldn’t?
The obvious answer would be more money.
That could certainly tip the scales in their favor, but Bumgarner does not strike me as someone who is just looking for the biggest payday.
Outside of money, I’m not sure what the Twins or even the Yankees could offer him that the aforementioned NL teams could not.
It could happen, but I cannot see Bumgarner deciding to sign with an American League team.
