San Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski

Mike Yastrzemski is an interesting one to look at because he only played one season under Bochy, so his departure may not be as stark as it is for some of the longer-tenured players.

I’d imagine, or at least I’d hope, Kapler will come in and say: “Hey buddy, don’t worry about me, just keep doing what you’re doing.”

Still, it has to be a bit jarring to have a managerial change this early in your MLB career.

Players are creatures of habit, so no matter who is calling the shots, eventually a routine will set in. However, a change in the clubhouse atmosphere can be all it takes to put a guy in a slightly better or worse mindset.

Let’s hope for Yaz and some of the other young guys it will be a change for the better.

The Gabe Kapler era has arrived and the impact of that decision will be felt throughout the San Francisco Giants organization in 2020 and beyond.
