San Francisco Giants general manager Scott Harris

Scott Harris was hired shortly before the Kapler decision was made.

He has a lot to prove as he makes the leap from an assistant general manager with the Chicago Cubs to the general manager of the San Francisco Giants.

While the decision to hire Kapler eventually fell to Zaidi, it’s also clear that Harris was comfortable with the decision or he would not have accepted his current post.

If the team continues to struggle, Harris could find himself in the position of fall man, considering the relationship that Zaidi and Kapler already have and his status as the new addition to the group.

Just by way of being a young executive, Harris is an unknown entity. The subsequent hiring of Kapler shortly after he was hired means those two will be linked, for better or worse.
