Giants: Five bold predictions for the MLB offseason

Brandon Belt will be traded
It has been talked about for years, but I think Zaidi will finally do it; trade the man who has seemingly been almost solely blamed for the team’s offensive woes for the past five years.
Trading Brandon Belt would certainly be popular among a certain contingent of Giants fans who just might happen to broadly overlap with the readers of this article.
Belt has sort of been a catch-all boogeyman that fans have levied complaints against for some time despite his contributions to two championship-winning teams.
Perhaps it’s because every somewhat powerful lefty who plays 81 games in Oracle Park will be unfairly compared to Barry Bonds, but I digress.
This site has already examined a few scenarios in which Belt gets traded, and I say that Zaidi is smart enough to pull something off. If he got the Braves to take such a huge bite out of Mark Melancon‘s contract, then perhaps he can use the same magic touch to convince some team to take a bite out of Belt’s as well.
