RP Fernando Abad

2018 Stats: 21 G, 8 HLD, 4.15 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 3 BB, 9 K, 13.0 IP

Veteran left-hander Fernando Abad spent most of the season dominating hitters in the upper levels of the minors.

After signing a minor league deal during the offseason, the 33-year-old saved 13 games and posted a 2.70 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with a terrific 55-to-5 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 50 innings of work.

He was finally called up in mid-August to bolster a bullpen that was depleted by the team’s trade deadline dealings, and he was a steady option down the stretch.

While there’s a chance he could find his way back to San Francisco, he’ll likely try to use his bounce-back performance to secure an MLB deal this time around.
