Augusta GreenJackets Low-A

Record 13-27, 7th place in the southern division

Top Prospects:

This team has not been able to click offensively at any point throughout the year. Augusta is dead last in the South Atlantic League with a (.214) batting average. The pitching hasn’t been great either with a 4.48 earned run average. You won’t win many games if you can’t score. Augusta has scored the least amount of runs in the league (151) while giving up the third most (219).

Prospect Kelvin Beltre leads the team with a .261 batting average as well as hits with 35. Sandro Fabian is tied with Beltre with (35) hits on the year to go along with a (.318) average. Adon has struggled with consistency early on in the year. In six starts he has a 4.56 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP.

History was made on April 25, 2017. Domenic Mazza pitched a perfect game for the Green Jackets. What made it all the more impressive was that he did it only needing 85 pitches. In seven starts on the year, Mazza has a 4.95 ERA. In two starts he gave up 16 runs in 9 innings of work. In his other five starts he has pitched great only giving up 6 runs in 31 innings of work for a 1.74 ERA.
