The National League

Much like the American League, the National League favorites are pretty well defined in 2017. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs lead the way as the all out favorites for the national league. The Giants, Nationals and Met’s all are in that next tier, with the Cardinals, Rockies, Pirates, and Braves within the next tier of “potential breakouts.”

Much like the American League vote, our writers all gave out their predictions for the National League. The setup will be the exact same as the American League:

NL East

  1. New York Met’s (6)
  2. Washington Nationals (2)

NL Central

  1. Chicago Cubs (Unanimous)

NL West

  1. Los Angeles Dodgers (5)
  2. San Francisco Giants (3)

Predictable, huh? The cream of the crop is just far too separated, from the rest of the competitors. However, things got interesting when it came to the NL Wild Card Predictions. The results for that are as follows, with all teams that got a vote:

  1. St. Louis Cardinals (5)
  2. San Francisco Giants (4)
  3. Colorado Rockies (2)
  4. Los Angeles Dodgers (2)
  5. Pittsburgh Pirates (1)
  6. Washington Nationals (1)
  7. Cincinnati Reds (1)

So yeah, things got a little weird here. The Rockies actually received two votes, and the Dodgers vote’s shouldn’t matter since we already have them winning the division. The real head scratcher is the Cincinnati Reds choice as a Wild Card. Thankfully, I made it an anonymous submission to the survey, so that writer can’t be blasted for his/her silly ideas (please somehow get my sarcasm here hopefully this blurb in parentheses can get it across that I don’t really care).
