The American League

The American League in 2017 is going to be quite competitive. You have the Toronto Blue Jays, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers, and the Houston Astros as the majority of the favorites in the AL around baseball as a whole. Our staff actually came out of it relatively true to this. For each division I’ll put them down in order and place in parentheses the amount of votes they recieved. If they didn’t get a vote, they don’t appear on the list. We had a total of eight votes.

AL East

  1. Boston Red Sox (6)
  2. Toronto Blue Jays (1)
  3. New York Yankees (1)

AL Central

  1. Cleveland Indians (5)
  2. Kansas City Royals (3)

AL West

  1. Texas Rangers (3)
  2. Seattle Mariners (2)
  3. Houston Astros (2)
  4. Los Angeles Angels (1)

So right now our predicted postseason looks like the Red Sox, Rangers and Indians, plus the two wild card teams. Each vote wrote in two wild card teams as well. Those teams were:

  1. Toronto Blue Jays (5)
  2. Houston Astros (3)

Other teams receiving votes were the Mariners (2), Yankees (2), Tigers (1) and Orioles (1).
