San Francisco Giants 2017 Preview of NL West Opponent: The Arizona Diamondbacks

Subtractions
There aren’t too many standout subtractions but they do include: Christian Walker, Kevin Jepsen, and for a quick second, Gregor Blanco.
Blanco was originally released, because an oblique injury was preventing him from making the roster. However, they felt they couldn’t get a good enough look at him, so the decided to re-sign him, to the exact same terms. Weird, and quite confusing.
Kevin Jepsen compiled a 2.33 ERA across 69.2 innings in 2015 and proceeded to fall apart after splitting last season between the Rays and the Twins. The 32 year old pitcher posted a 12.27 ERA in 3.2 innings this year during the Cactus League so his release was inevitable.
Christian Walker, first basemen and corner outfielder was out-righted to Triple A. Although not on Arizona’s roster, Walker remains in the organization to be assigned outright to Triple-A Reno. If Walker poses a strong performance in the Pacific Coastal League it could allow him to work his way back onto the Major League scene.
