I am not sure who to really bring up as significant losses. The big one out of the pitching staff was Jorge De La Rosa. The longtime Rockies starter ended up the club he had pitched for over nine years. He walked away with a winning record, despite the club having a losing one over the years he spent there. A career ERA of 4.35 in Colorado is not too shabby considering how hitter friendly that ballpark is. The loss of the veteran presence in the young staff is somewhat sad, but the future is bright.

Another departure that Giants fans know all too well is Nick Hundley‘s migration over to be a backup to Buster Posey. Hundley took a good deal, and left a chance to start with the Rockies, to come over and try and win a ring in SF. The Catcher position was largely a hole for the Rockies last year, as Hundley wasn’t healthy the entire season, and Tony Wolters wasn’t entirely ready. Hundley is another veteran leadership loss that the Rockies might miss more than they thought.

After these two departures, the small losses of Boone Logan, Daniel Descalso, and Ryan Raburn probably aren’t that significant considering the young, talented replacements they anticipate having in to replace them.
