Moment Number 1: Winning the 2016 Willie Mac Award

For Javier Lopez this has got to be the icing on the cake. A very bittersweet moment. 2016 was possibly Lopez’s last year as a Giant. If this is indeed goodbye, this award shows that he was respected and appreciated by his teammates for his contributions on and off the field. The Willie Mac Award is an award in honor of Willie McCovey given out every year to the most inspirational player on the team. In his seven year stint with the San Francisco Giants, Javier Lopez won three championships and is honored by his teammates with the Willie Mac award.
