Moment Number 2: An Unbelievable Surprising Catch

Sure Lopez is a pitcher and his best moments come from getting big outs with strikeouts, but this play was unbelievable. Usually a pitcher never leaves the mound especially for a pop up in foul territory. In this case, it was a pop up behind home plate near the backstop. The initial reaction is the catcher is going to catch it so, the pitcher would just stand there. Except in this instance, Lopez made a heads up play and ran towards the backstop immediately. It was good thing he did because catcher Hector Sanchez had no idea where the ball was. It’s not every day you see a pitcher make the highlight reel for their defense. This is definitely deserving of a look below:
