Buying or Selling on latest Giants Trade Rumors

Josh Reddick
According to Joe Stiglich, the Giants have had preliminary talks about a possible cross-bay trade for Josh Reddick. Josh has seemingly been a cornerstone outfielder for the A’s since he arrived in Oakland in 2012. Reddick has been enjoying a productive 2016 campaign with a .322 batting average with a .974 fielding percentage. The Oakland outfielder has been a constant impact player and brings a veteran mentality with him. Reddick would definitley bring another colorful personality to the Giants diverse melting pot of a locker room. He is currently on a 1-year deal worth $6,575,000, and will become an unrestricted free agent after this year. Though with Pagan set to hit the market as well, Reddick may be interesting to watch during free agency as well, especially if San Francisco trades for him. A big question is whether or not the A’s are willing to trade Reddick. If you think about it, Beane has never been scared to trade big name players, just think back to when Billy shipped off Josh Donaldson to Toronto. That trade still baffles me. The one real stopper to this deal is that Reddick has been out since May 20 with a fractured thumb. He was just reinstated from the DL today. The Giants clearly want to get healthier with an additional outfielder, as staying healthy has been troublesome for San Francisco’s outfielders. If Reddick can stay healthy, this deal makes a lot of sense. If Reddick was brought over, I could see a switch to left field for Josh, as Pence already has a claim on right field for the Giants, with Pagan in center. Reddick wouldn’t break the bank but would provide a solid bat to the lineup. The big issue is if he can stay healthy…
