Buster Posey

Yadier Molina has taken the position behind the dish at the All-Star game seven years in a row. And Posey is right on his heels (933,300-856,013) in the balloting. This is a position which should be cemented in Posey’s name starting with this year. It’s not just the bat that makes Posey the elite catcher in the NL, but also his work on defense. He calls a great game, and his 10 stolen bases allowed are the fewest among any catcher with more than thirty games started. Here is the comparison: Molina-21 stolen bases allowed and 9 thrown out, SB Pct of .700. Posey-10 stolen bases allowed and 14 thrown out, SB Pct of .417. Posey is also second in home runs (8), third in RBI’s (31), and leads all catchers in the NL with 4 stolen bases. Can you imagine if a catcher ends up with more stolen bases than they allow?
