Overall

A sixth of the way through the season seems like a small sample size to really understand the team. But it has been long enough to understand that the team has the right approach at the plate. With a first-place record in the west, the Giants have been good enough to keep afloat while the pitching staff figures things out, and the defense has been excellent. Bruce Bochy has been put in a difficult position early with the injuries, but is still doing a good job finding the right match ups late in games. He also now is playing with a full bench which should help moving forward.

A good strong A in April doesn’t necessarily mean you’re playing in October.
