The San Francisco Giants just completed their twenty-seventh game, which means they are 1/6th of the way into the season. Seems like the perfect time to evaluate the team.

Cutting a Major League baseball season into two halves doesn’t seem to do it justice. Even four quarters sounds like it shortchanges the true length of the season. But twenty-seven games in, a team has had a chance to find out their identity, and if there are any deficiencies with the roster.

The Giants beat the Cincinnati Reds to take them a game over .500 at 14-13. With the Los Angeles Dodgers idle, the Giants moved into a half game lead in the National League West.

At this point in the season, any lead in the division would be a welcomed sight, but it is even more welcomed since the team is not running on all cylinders yet. There are some tweaks that still need to be worked out.

Here are the SF Giants team grades thus far for 2016.
