This position will be up for debate as there are several other players that were close. Players such as Felipe Alou and Jack Clark have numbers that were good, and Hunter Pence could get into the conversation with another couple of strong years. Even Chili Davis‘ name entered the fray for a quick minute before settling on Barry’s dad. The 2-time All-Star struck out a lot. But he still hit .273 with 186 home runs and 552 runs batted in while winning 3 Gold Gloves in seven seasons with the team. He also played at a time when pitching was dominate, and ownership was always trading away good teammates so the team was not stable.
