Stolen Bases: Denard Span

At first glance, this is an easy one. It is also an easy one at second glance, but Pagan will steal more bases this year than he did last season (12). But even if he were to double his output from last year, he won;t be able to catch Span. With the aforementioned Panik hitting behind him, Span will have a lefty up to the plate to assist in shielding the catcher’s view. All it takes sometimes is a split second of hesitation and the runner slides in safely. Span had 31 swipes in his last full season in 2014 which was good for fifth in the National League. With a full season at AT&T, where extra bags are important, his value will go up every time he steals a base. My prediction: 28 stolen bases, placing tenth in the league and 8 ahead of Angel Pagan‘s 20.
