Hector Sanchez and Joaquin Arias

Both Sanchez and Arias have contributed in some way to the Giants’ succes in the recent past. Sanchez never really made it over the hump, and was derailed by injuries over the last couple of years. After being leapfrogged by Andrew Susac in the depth chart last year, Sanchez signed with the Chicago White Sox and will now provide depth in their minor league system. He hit .222 in 27 at bats this spring.

Arias was a quality back up infielder for the Giants. He never quite got it going with the bat, and that is why he was allowed to leave with Kelby Tomlinson‘s arrival. He is hitting .290 in 31 at bats after signing with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He is on the roster bubble, and most likely will have to work his way back up to the big league club after a stint in the minors.
