SF Giants:Where Are They Now?Last Year’s Defectors Part 2

Juan Perez and Jean Machi 

Both Perez and Machi were signed by the Chicago Cubs to compete for jobs this spring. They were both sent to minor league camp on March 25th. Perez hit .129 in 31 at bats this spring, while Machi threw in 5 games garnering a 3.60 ERA. As we saw with the Giants, both have the ability to be valuable pieces for a team making a run down the stretch. Hopefully for both, the Cubs will have enough faith in them to bring them up when they need someone.
