SF Giants:Where Are They Now? Last Year’s Defectors Part 1

A late season addition to the Giants, Byrd showed good power, but was not in the team’s future plans at the salary he was looking to receive if he had played more down the stretch. Interestingly enough, had the team been in a pennant race, Byrd would most likely be a Giant right now. He is currently projected to start in right field for the Cleveland Indians due to an injury to Lonnie Chisenhall. His power plays well in the American League, and has the DH to fall back on once Chisenhall returns. He’s hitting .400 in 20 at bats for the Indians this spring.
