Mac Williamson and Kyle Blanks have put a great foot forward, but so has Gorkys Hernandez and Conor Gillaspie.
Tonight’s game will open with Gillaspie as a starter at 1B, and looks good so far as a strong left-handed bat off the bench. If he continues to make solid contact, he has a great shot at one of the last roster spots.
Another thing to watch tonight is Angel Pagan in left field. He has been moved over from center, and it will be interesting to see what types of routes he takes to the ball and if he gets decent jumps.
Jarrett Parker will be in right and hitting cleanup. He is hitting the ball hard so far, just like Williamson, and has a real chance at providing power off the bench.
Trevor Brown will be behind the plate, and will be a great asset to the team down the road. And another story to watch is Grant Green playing third. He can be an extraordinary find by the team if he can find his stroke.
Madison Bumgarner will be on the mound, and his intensity doesn’t go away just because it’s the spring. Joe Panik and Brandon Crawford are also in the lineup, Buster Posey, Brandon Belt, and Matt Duffy will start on the bench.
Next: Fantasy Value In The Lineup
Tonight will also be a chance to see the great young pitching the Giants have. These fireballers that are coming out of the bullpen are intriguing. Great for the present, and could be good trade assets later in the year if the team needs some reinforcements.
